We talk to Lux Alptraum, author of Faking It: The Lies Women Tell About Sex, and the Truths They Reveal. The book takes for granted that women do in fact lie, and asks what those lies are trying to tell us. We also discuss a piece recently published in the New York Times, “The Real Naked Selfies Are Coming,” about the media’s handling of a fake naked selfie purporting to show congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez nude. We talk about how we ought to handle real naked pictures of young female public figures—pictures that will inevitably come as millennials enter into politics. Finally, Lux shares some thoughts about the state of sex on the Internet.

We then move to a recording of the event that we, along with our SWOP Pittsburgh colleagues, organized and ran. First, we share the vigil, written and performed by SWOP member Moriah Ella Mason, then we move into a storytelling portion of the night, emceed by SWOP Pittsburgh member Nicole.
