Episode 32 features an interview with NYC based dominatrix, full spectrum doula, and sex worker rights advocate Danelle Blunt. We discuss the work that she did with Persist Health Project, connecting those who work in the sex trades with affirming health care services. We also examine the way that stigma impacts health care and some strategies that sex workers and other marginalized communities employ in order to get the care they need. Episode 31: Christina Springer: Stories and Poems from a Happy Ending Massage Parlor
Episode 31 features an interview with Pittsburgh-based Alt.Black artist and spoken word poet Christina Springer. Her new book, The Splooge Factory, comes out on Frayed Edge Press this month. It is a collection of poetry exploring her experiences as a receptionist in a “happy endings” massage parlor in Pittsburgh, PA. We talk to her about her experience at the massage parlor; her own history and art; love and intimacy; race, eroticism, and sex work; and motherhood and aging.
Episode 30: Lorelei Lee on Finding Strength in Sex Work Communities
Episode 30 features an interview with sex worker, activist, and writer Lorelei Lee. We discuss her article, “Once You Have Made Pornography,” which describes the many ways sex work stigma manifests and its impacts your life. We also talk about strategies for combatting stigma and how sex workers rely on each other for support and affirmation. Julian Gill-Peterson, author of Histories of the Transgender Child, joins us to discuss the Trump administration’s recent memo instructing government agencies to no longer recognize trans identities.
Episode 29: Laura Helen Marks on Hardcore Pornography and the Victorian Gothic
In Episode 29, we interview professor Laura Helen Marks and discuss her new book, Alice in Pornoland: Hardcore Encounters with the Victorian Gothic, which explores Victorian and Gothic literature’s connection to past and present pornography. We also talk about her tortoise, and her thoughts about anti-porn feminism.
Episode 27: Vera Sky on Race, Size, and Representation in the Cam Industry
In Episode 27 we interview Vera Sky, XBIZ’s 2017 Cam Model of the Year. We talk to her about her life and her career. We also tackle issues of race, body size, and representation, as well as what it is like to be a sex worker in middle America. But, before we do that, we reflect on what Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings have signified for women in this country.
Episode 26: Hacking and Hustling: A sex worker led tech conference
We cover Hacking//Hustling: A Platform for Sex Workers in a Post SESTA World with a combination of interviews and captured audio.
We discuss the need for a sex worker centered tech conferences with Ingrid Burrington, an Eyebeam art resident who helped to facilitate the event. We then move to footage of the sex worker panel that kicked off the event. We feature snippets of Tina Horn, Lorelei Lee, Danielle Blunt, and Melissa Gira Grant.
We also talk to Britt Schulte, who curated the Whores Will Rise: Protest Art and Resistant Ephemera Against FOSTA/SESTA, the art exhibit running in conjunction with the event; and we talk to Joanna Gould and Sally Szwed, Eyebeam staff.
Finally, we bring you three longer interviews. First, we talk to Sophie Searcy from t4tech, about digital hygiene; second, to sex worker Tourma, and her client Rick about their trip to the conference together; and, lastly, to Danielle Blunt and Melissa Gira Grant about their reflections on the conference as a whole.

Episode 24: Mistress Eva on Being an Asian Dominatrix
In Episode 24 we interview Mistress Eva, a semi-retired Professional Dominatrix who now runs an online BDSM slave training program and tours worldwide with a base in Bali, Indonesia. We talk about her life, work, and the ways that being an Asian sex worker in an Asian context is different than the experiences of Western sex workers.
