Joanna Angel and Small Hands create a playfully sexy horror caper in lockdown, complete with an adorable skeleton dog.
While many porn studios shut down over the summer, Burning Angel’s Joanna Angel and Small Hands took matters into their own hands – transforming their home into a haunted house and safely continuing their output of fun gothic entertainment.
We wake up with the couple in their new home in ‘Signal Hill’, a fancy, yet eerily quiet town. Small Hands is unsure of his new surroundings, having received a few odd looks from the neighbors. His worries are soon confirmed as creepy things start happening. The couple notice unsettling noises, music in the attic, messages written on the bathroom mirror. Things soon get out of hand as Joanna starts acting strangely, and before long we’re in full possessed-horny-ghost-wife territory.
A huge part of the fun is figuring out how the couple achieved the shots and admiring their ingenuity and talent. The house is lit with bright blues, red and purples – creating a modern 80s feel (think Stranger Things or The Guest). Small Hands’s score is full of synth-heavy 80s melodies from his recent Demons EP. There are a few effects, but almost everything is done practically, just like the best B-movies.
The first few episodes of the 4-episode series are fairly light on the creepy, focusing on the (unsurprisingly) incredibly sexy sex. The final 2 episodes, however, go full horror: black robes, candles, creepy newspaper headlines – the works. One memorable cumshot is juxtaposed with visions of a ghostly leather masked face, prompting a hilarious reaction from a perturbed mid-orgasm Small Hands. At another point a possessed Joanna does a sexy dance with a giant dog skeleton. There’s even a hilarious cameo from Mike Quasar playing their cranky estate agent, helping Small Hands uncover the mystery of ‘Lana’. The final episode is the most entertaining, with some scary ghost slapstick and a full Hammer Horror sex ritual, complete with hooded ghost blowjob and Small Hands in a gimp mask. It’s creepy, campy, and brilliant.
This is a familiar horror story, but it’s told in tongue-in-cheek, Burning Angel style and that’s exactly what we need right now. Even in lockdown, Burning Angel continues to give us the gothy, joyful, sexy sex we love so much.
