Fun, Foreplay and Consent in Triple P

by Peepshow Media
August 14, 2020

Allie Oops’s light-hearted film demonstrates the potential of sex education through porn, and also that silliness and erotica can indeed go hand in hand.

In the opening of Triple P: Political Pussy Pounding, we see a shot of Oops’s butt, and a voiceover proclaiming: “detail shot of the butt”—introducing us to the film’s meta, mockumentary style. We watch as Oops and her co-star Rooster meet, laugh and crack jokes, interspersed with clips of their later, more intimate interactions. While the film is an incredibly light-hearted porno portrait of two people getting it on, it’s also a carefully-constructed educational film. We see Rooster ask, “Do you like spit?” and waiting for Oops’s enthusiastic yes before continuing. We hear Oops gasp “I like it when you pull my hair,” as the two of them roll around on a colorful bed in bright daylight.

There’s a focus on foreplay and various erogenous zones—kissing necks, licking fingers. There’s minimal traditional “pounding,” but the film is the better for it—the sexiness comes through the exploration of each person’s body and preferences, and the “yes pleases” along the way. When the two do reach orgasm, it’s through mutual masturbation, legitimizing it as a valid (and hot) form of sexual interaction that is just as intimate as any other.

While most films end with the orgasm, in Triple P it comes in the middle, using the latter half of the film to juxtapose an outro interview with more clips of the action. The performers discuss what they liked, reflecting on silliness as an unfortunate rarity in porn and a welcome turn-on (cut to clip of Rooter squirting lube while saying “squirt squirt squirt”). There’s even a moment where the performers try something out—one says “Does that feel good?” and the other laughs and replies “Ummm, no,” causing them to both giggle and move on. It’s incredibly rare to see a “no” in consent discussions on screen, especially in porn, and it’s refreshing to see how it’s dealt with here: as just another part of a fun, positive interaction.

Sex education is becoming a focus for porn creators. As professional sex experts who navigate boundaries every day, this makes total sense. Triple P shows us that education and entertainment can indeed go hand in hand. Peeking behind the pre- and mid- shoot consent curtain can actually improve the audience’s experience, not detract from it. Educational porn can also be silly, and this silliness can make it more accessible. This can only be a good thing.

You can buy this film, and others, on Oops’s and Rooster’s Manyvids stores.
